Darwin - Days 5 and 6

Glen went off to work early on Monday morning. He did an installation at "The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities". Glad I don't work there - what a mouthful when someone asks where you work!!

I sat in the hotel room for much of the day catching up on my work. In the afternoon I took a stroll through the town - bought nothing, except a sandwich for lunch!

Reading an interesting business book - The E-myth Revisited by Michael Gerber. The principals are good - bit hard to implement though. However, it has given me some food for thought.

In the evening we went into town and had a drink at a pub in Mitchell Street and popped across the road for Indian. We sat on the pavement and watched the world go by. Seem to have been doing quite a bit of that over the past couple of days!

I took a couple of pictures of the lovely buildings in Darwin on the way home. Most have been rebuilt after Cyclone Tracey in 1974, but they are lovely nonetheless.

Tuesday 1st May

We went for a nice walk along the Esplanade this morning, and then Glen went off to work. When he got back we headed off to a Fish 'n Chip shop in Mitchell Street owned by Russell's friend, Andrew. It's called "The Barra Bar" and the fish was delicious. They grilled it, so it was a nice healthy meal too (OK - apart from the chips which are irresistible!)

Then it was off to the airport for the long slog home. We had to go through Sydney, so took about 7 hours in total before we finally reached Buderim.
